Many people are often  inspired and attracted to others and adopt the good in their life.  So was in the case of Shabnum Gul . She always took many personalities and Nature as her token of inspiration and moved forward .

Prof. Shabnum Gul a well-known poet, story writer, drama writer, columnist, creative writer, and educationist. She belongs to area of Jamshoro colony and later from Matli.  She did her M.A English in 1986 from University of Sindh. Currently she is also a Professor of English  in a College. She does not belongs to a literature based background. She belongs to a simple family. His father was a Doctor and He was fond of reading digest.  At that time digest were commonly read at her home. She used to visit village where she always used to go library and bought and read story books. Since childhood she was pursued to literature and her almost family were somehow into reading literature and fond of reading which made Shabnum very closed to books.  She was fond of reading books from her childhood. She loves visiting countries, outing and discovering.

She from her childhood has a deep connection from nature. And realized that nature itself is a book.  When asked about her inspiration Shabnum says: ‘ I observed the nature very closely and have learned from nature a lot and realized that I can write on nature. On moon, Flowers, water, and everything with beauty.’

She mostly has written on nature.  And concluded that nature is a complete way of life. It has sequence, story. She believe that skills are God gifted it just needs to get polished. It gets polished by deep observation of nature, reading and studying nature, surroundings.  She believes that you can write on anything you want. Anybody can be a good writer anybody can write on any topic but before that studying and having a guideline on that is important. She never has worked on anything before studying well about it.  She has been writing for women’s since her university time. She is very concerned about education system.  She wrote much on culture and history of Sindh. She took many interviews of prominent working women.  She has worked as television, radio, and stage compare.
She has worked in the field of journalism. She started to write for different newspapers and magazines during student life. She wrote stories in Jang. She took start from daily Aman Newspaper. She remain editor of a Sindhi magazine ‘’ Bakhtawar’’ for few years.  She wrote different columns for Sindhi and Urdu Newspaper and contributed for different newspapers. She even wrote the best poetry.  She wrote many plays for Radio in Sindhi and Urdu languages and have a deep connection with radio. She came in radio in Phulvari program in her childhood. She learned from very renowned personalities, She learned a lot from radio.  She discovered the art of drama writing first time in Radio and first time wrote drama for Radio. She kept on doing interviews in university when she was studying.  She wrote articles for Dawn, Kawish.  Shabnum’s recently published book names as ‘’Makhi Khan Moklani’’ documentary novel  about wild life of Sindh. She is author of several more books.  She have written two best plays of the year and her play was also nominated for award.
This Delightful lady, is an example and role model for several women’s. She being a women have proved herself to the best. Despite of her busy personality, She always manipulate with the time in every aspects of her life. At a time She is a writer, housewife, mother of children’s, and Professor at college. But She manages everything beautifully and accordingly. She believes in dedication and commitment towards her work which easily helps in managing time. She even does all the household chores, loves gardening, photography and gossiping with teachers in staff room. But instead of this She has time for writing.  Shabnum have never found a separate corner or isolated for writing. She keep on writing and talking and working altogether whenever she has time. She believes these are technical things.

Shabnum’s advice for the new one’s  that anybody can write but before that first discover your own self. Once you have discovered yourself you are on your way to success. You can pen down your thoughts, feelings, observations or anything on any topic at any place you want.  Be friend with yourself, reading books, newspapers helps in building knowledge and imagination.  Shabnum believes in expressing, the more good you can express the more you can write good.
